Description: Hawthorne Global Aviation Services, a leader in general aviation services since 1932, sought to establish a presence in Chicago. Hawthorne wanted a facility to meet the growing demand for corporate aviation services in Chicago– something that would offer architectural integrity and stand out from its surroundings. They felt that the Chicago Executive Airport was the perfect fit for a third FBO location. It enlisted the help of a consultant to choose the right contractor for the job. The consultant recommended Chapple Design-Build. This pristine, eco-friendly facility of was opened in March 2014 and boast 30,000 square feet of heated hangar space with a 28’ X 160’ door. Pilots can relax in the spacious pilots lounge. The on site conference room and flight planning room are accommodating for pilots and guests.

Description: The project utilized conventional construction methods including brick and limestone exterior finishes. The interior is highlighted with high-end millwork finishes including a limestone fireplace, marble tile, wood floors and accent lighting. The décor of the restaurant recreates the look and feel of an Italian trattoria with an informal, friendly atmosphere. The project features a private wine tasting room off the main entry for private gatherings.
